The American Institute of Architects Los Angeles (AIA|LA) is proud to announce that the Elevado Addition has won the “Honard Award” in the Additions and Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) category of the 2026 Residential Architecture Awards. This award recognizes the highest excellence in residential design.

The Elevado Addition was selected for the highest Honor award from among more than 110 submissions reviewed by an esteemed jury representing architecture, sustainability, and design leadership.

The jury noted that the project is “A light and unexpected addition using slender steel elements to contrast with the traditional home while preserving openness and natural light. The integration of the pool, indoor-outdoor spaces, and ADU program results in a highly inventive multifunctional design.”

"Residential architecture is where innovation becomes deeply personal. Every home represents an opportunity to improve quality of life, strengthen communities, and respond creatively to today's environmental and social challenges. These awards celebrate architects who continue to push the boundaries of residential design while creating places that are beautiful, resilient, and profoundly human," said Carlo Caccavale, Hon. AIA|LA, Executive Director of AIA Los Angeles.

We want to extend our gratitude to our lovely clients, Caroline and Adrian, for their adventurousness and trust; to the dedicated contractor, Marc Le Cornet; and to the ultra-talented Steven Fiske Landscape Design. It has been a pleasure to collaborate with each of you. Special thanks also go to Tyler Whiteside for the beautiful photos.
